Light dark light stopmotion animation by jan svankmajer
I don't really know what i think of this film, or if it really has a meaning at all. It shocked me to say the least and freaked me out a little bit, but it was also very well animated with an interesting dark atmosphere that ran though it. It might have been a depiction of the human mind and body. It was entertaining in it's strangeness and thought provoking too, particularly the setting in the box like room, as the body got bigger and bigger this became more claustrophobic and the world outside the doors became more creepy and unsettling. I think the final scene before the end was the greatest in showing this claustrophobia.

Badly freak you out? All of it or just parts? Is this the first time you have watched this kind of stuff?
ReplyDeleteNot in a bad way at all! It was really interesting and surreal but i have a high capacity for that kind of stuff so i able to enjoy it, it was nice to be surprised by a piece of animation when so much of the animated world is plagued by cliches.
