How our silent film adheres to the styles and conventions of the genre and what could've been applied better.

The film is silent.
The film has black crop borders.
The film is short.
The film was done in small sets.
The film has a simple plot.
The film has noise and static.

The camera is stationary throughout the film, it never pans or moves.
The emotions of the actors are conveyed through obvious body language.
The context of the film is explained through text.
The soundtrack is suited to the context of the time of the silent film genre (no dubstep or electric music).

What could i have done better:
I could have roughened the edges around the film screen to make it seem more like a silent film. I was smiling and laughing at the situation in parts of the film - this disrupted the realism of the film. I should have changed the exposure slightly in parts of the filming and some of the footage was probably not fully horizontal. I could have added credits at the end of the film.

What i learnt from the process:
I learnt how to use the premier program - how to import files, save files, edit footage ect. I also learnt how to use a camera more effectively, specifically how to alter exposure among other things. I learnt how to convey emotions dramatically through body language.

How i plan to test myself in the future:
In the future i will learn how to use the camera more effectively and i will try to be a better actor. I will also try to use other effects and features in the premier program
