Reflection:
In reflection i think the look book worked well. some people didn't like the saturated look but i think it fitted the brand identity in a striking and vibrant way.
Editing
I was right to put the lookbook in landscape - the photos wouldn't have fit otherwise. I'm glad i didn't add too many photos or a background - this stopped it from looking too garish. I feel the saturation worked well in every photo we took but it clashed to a certain extent with the internet photos - particularly the t shirt and hat.
Layout
I feel the layout is easy to read and digest and i’m glad there's some white space rather than having the photos fill the whole page as some do. I should’ve changed the last page though because it ruins the professional feel of the whole lookbook.
Photos
I should’ve added more photos but we didn't take enough in our original take. Furthermore the ones we did add looked bland and uninteresting which is why i added the intense saturation.
text
My big regret is that i didn't include any writing in the lookbook - which is my strength, maybe i should've included some poetry as other members of the class did.
Mistakes
However in retrospect to the actual brand i shouldn't have made 2 variations of the logo because that creates gender stereotypes on the product and brand - this goes against my aesthetic and ideals. In addition i probably should not have used photos from the internet to furnish my look book since the others in the class didn't.
Furthermore i feel i should've taken more photos with more models in different locations, but i was pressed for time and i think i did well with what i had.
In conclusion it’s not the best look book in the class, it’s not as professional or detailed as some but, i still feel it works well - the brand has a strong identity.
